What do you nickname...?

What are the name of the USB ports in the spinal column of a desktop computer (mine's a dell)? I'm trying to install a printer that is plugged within to the second USB port in the rear legs, and it's asking what port it's in. Thanks for your minister to.

com ports
My USB printer is connected to...

Port: USB0001

Description: Virtual printer port for USB

Normally when you run the software that comes with the printer, or the wizard, it should pick this up automatically.
asign a com port specifically not used by other device
usb ports are detected automatically. some printers enjoy more than one interface. the driver need to know whether the printer is connected to parallel/centronics, serial, usb or ethernet.

parallel ports use 25pin SubD connectors, serial ports use 9 or 25pin SubD connectors, ethernet uses rj45, bnc or subd15 connectors and usb uses usb connectors.
